He is the founder of Public, a Substack publication, and author of “Apocalypse Never,” a Time Magazine, “Hero of the Environment,” an IPCC Invited Reviewer, Green Book Award Winner, and President of Environmental Progress. A self-described ecomodernist, Shellenberger believes that economic growth can continue without negative environmental impacts through technological research and development, usually through a combination of nuclear power and urbanization.
